<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Due to the agricultural transformation of landscapes, an increase in the rate of water erosion of soils is noted both at the global and national levels. In the CIS countries, water erosion is the most common type of degradation of agricultural land. Improving approaches to solving the problem of managing erosion-hazardous agrolandscapes involves the development of automated methods for assessing water erosion of a given spatial accuracy, taking into account all factors of land use.The article presents the results of modeling the rates of water erosion at the regional level in the Brest region of the Republic of Belarus and the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. A comparative analysis of the factors of erosion is given, including the example of the results of modeling water erosion in key areas. Global and local digital terrain models based on radar data, laser terrain scanning (lidar) data, and related software are taken into account when assessing topographic conditions. Based on calculations based on the model, potential soil losses due to stormwater erosion are estimated, including for different genetic types of soils – sod-podzolic and typical chernozems. The results obtained make it possible to determine the order of adoption of various, including expensive, measures to combat and prevent water erosion necessary to obtain sustainable crops while maintaining reasonable production costs.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>водная эрозия почв</kwd><kwd>модели потенциального смыва</kwd><kwd>агроландшафт</kwd><kwd>ДДЗ</kwd><kwd>лидарная съемка</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>soil water erosion</kwd><kwd>potential erosion models</kwd><kwd>agrolandscape</kwd><kwd>remote sensing data</kwd><kwd>lidar survey</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Исследование выполнено за счет средств субсидии, выделенной в рамках государственной поддержки Казанского (Приволжского) федерального университета в целях повышения его конкурентоспособности среди ведущих мировых научно-образовательных центров, и в рамках выполнения НИР БРФФИ-РНФ № Х26РНФ-008 от 27.01.2026.</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The study was carried out at the expense of the funds of the subsidy allocated as part of the state support of Kazan (Volga region) Federal University in order to increase its competitiveness among the world’s leading scientific and educational centers, and as part of the implementation of research BRFFI-RNF No. X26RNF-008 dated 27.01.2026.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Атлас почв сельскохозяйственных земель Республики Беларусь / Под ред.
